hope
all is well with you. here things are going
well, have had the usual mishaps with the
house training. but wouldn't trade them
for anything! we brought daisie home at
17 lbs, a little butterball then, now at 11
wks old she is much longer, losing the
butterball shape, weighing in at the last vet
appt. at 20.5 lbs. she is by far the smartest
puppy we have had.
dunkin came home with us at 12 lbs. cute as
they come. at 10 wks old he is now 15 lbs and
gaining on daise. he has no choice! she
man handles him around when playing. dunkin is
the lover and is very content to please, but
daisie is miss independent and stubborn. the
perfect combo
last weekend, they went with us to vermont.
they had a blast, the 3 hr. ride didn't bother
them at all.
it
was -18 on sun. morning. they went out
and did their business and proceeded to find a
stick and play for 15 min. before they
decided to come in. had no problems problem
with riding in to camp the half mile on a
snowmobile. getting acquainted with the
camp and a couple strangers took all of a
couple minutes. they showed their love
of the snow by burying themselves in it and
jumping after each other.

Hi Chris, just thought we'd send you a few pictures of Hunter. He is
quite the "daddy's boy". He whines when Daddy leaves the room (or when
he's trying to tell us he needs to go out), and has taken to lying by the
door waiting for Daddy to come back in. He didn't like his bath, loves
the snow, and is so active it takes two of us to keep up with him. He
has become very inquisitive, would rather be exploring than held now,
and who would guess our three kids in their twenties would be so crazy
about a dog again! Our sons call him a "chick magnet" and needless to say
they are spending much more time at home (with their girlfriends)
playing with Hunter. He has become a beloved family member and we look so forward
to taking him on our walks (we love the rail trails) once he's bigger.
We have spoiled him with love and attention and he seems to love every
minute of it. Of course we trade stories with Janice Hoff on how Hunter
and Taffy are progressing. Paul and Linda and family

('Winnie) is doing great!
She has adapted very well, even laying
next to my large Bloodhound Rudy and
running in the snow with Phoebe my
pug. I have kept her on as close
a schedule as I can and she has only
had a couple 'accidents' in the house.
We took her out to enjoy the snow on
Saturday and she absolutely loved it!

from Newington-
We are all thrilled with "Burgundy
Female" from Josie and Cooper's
litter, who we have named Emma. Right
from the start she acted right at home
here. She gets along well with the
other dogs. I am amazed to see how
much she learns from them about the
routines- following them to the glass
door when it is time to go in the
backyard, etc. Even on her very first
night here, she settled down nicely to
sleep in the crate. She is very
playful and loves her puppy toys. She
loves playing in the backyard. She had
her vet's appointment on Tuesday and
weighed 15 lbs. 15 oz. Even my husband
commented this weekend that it seems
like she has been here forever.
I do have one question that I hope you
can advise me on. The first weekend
that she was here, and then again last
night, she started twitching all over,
sort of like shuddering and shaking.
It lasted less than a minute but more
than a few seconds. This happened in
her sleep both times. In the past I
have seen dogs have a leg that
twitches, but this was more of
her body. The movements were not huge
thrashes, more like twitches and sort
of shaking. Is this something
normal in puppies her age, or should I
take her to the vet? Does it
sound like a seizure, or something
common? I would appreciate your expert
insight? Thanks!

called my vet's office today and he
also reassured me that it was normal
for puppies to "twitch". I
feel so much better now that you and
Dr. Haines both say not to worry. When
she was at his office last Tuesday for
her shots he thought she looked very
good. His vet tech especially admired
her and told me that their practice
has a dozen or so of your dogs and
that they have all been very healthy.
I know that Sophie ( 19 months
old now ) has never needed a sick
visit, just routine care.
Sophie, by the way, is wonderful with
Emma. I love to see them snuggling
together. And Sophie is very tolerant
when Emma pounces on her with her
puppy antics. They really enjoy each
other's company.
Well it will be funny to watch Emma in
the snow if we end up getting this big
storm Wednesday. All the kids at the
school where I work are hoping for a
day off!
