Everything is going very well with our new puppy, Maycee Gracie (OUT OF GRACIE & WINSTON'S GORGEOUS HALF 'NORDIC' GOLDEN LITTER - 11/8/2010 - MORE PUPS AVAILABLE!!). She is so lovable and is fitting in with our family so well. She loves her big sister, Maggie, and they are always playing together. She is doing really well with training and we are just so happy to have her. Feel free to use our updates and pictures we send you. It is our pleasure to let everyone know how great your Golden's are.
Take care,
Sue & Glenn LaPlante & Family
Hi Chris,
I just wanted to let you know that we had our visit with the vet today and the puppy, whom we named "Maycee Gracie", had a clean bill of health. We bring her back in a couple weeks for her next set of shots.
She has been just wonderful at our home. She is such a joy and such a sweetheart. Our other golden, Maggie, loves her already and Maycee loves her too. They are always together now.
Thank you again for all your assistance in getting us this wonderful addition to our family. She will be very happy here and we look forward to her being in our family. Please feel free to post our updates and photos.
Sincerely,
Sue and Glenn LaPlante & Family
******** MARCH 16, 2011 Hi Chris, ******
Thank you for all the information you sent. It will be very helpful.
She was great yesterday and last night. She fits in great and Maggie loves her and I think the puppy loves her too. She has been eating, going the bathroom, and sleeping fine. Everyone here loves her already and is so happy with her. We still have not picked out her name but I will let you know what we choose. As you can see by the picture she loves to cuddle with Maggie already.
Glenn and I would like to thank you for making our decision process easier. It is very difficult to pick out the right puppy when they are all so adorable.
We have her 1st puppy appointment on Friday at 2PM so I will let you know if we have any problems, I do not expect any.
Thank you again,
Sue & Glenn LaPlante & Family

Dear Chris,
Quick update, we absolutely love our new Golden “Kodi.” He came to work with me on Monday to my job at the Meriden Animal Hospital . I had him checked and he had the remaining shots needed. They loved him. The staff all took turns holding him. My wife Jill loves him so much. When she came home from Boston she held him for two hours. He’s a great dog. I passed along one of your cards to my buddy Dave who lost his Golden around Thanksgiving. He saw Kodi and fell in love. I’m sure when its time he will be calling you. We really enjoyed the total experience at your place and are very thankful. Kodi has a great temperament and disposition. He is definitely filling the void.

[OUT OF SOPHIE & WINSTON'S 8/9/2010 LITTER]
Hi Chris,
Today Abby and Runner turned four months old! You were right on saying we are perfect matches for each other. We all have our regular routines that they have grown into very well. I believe since they have each other and play all the time they're getting plenty of exercise and know when its time to chill. Our friends and family give us compliments on how well behaved they are. Some say they can't believe that puppies can be so calm. Abby and Runner are quick learners and very obedient. We couldn't be happier!
Merry Christmas to you and all of your family,

very Merry Christmas and only the best
in the new year.
Nancy, Paul & Dusty

I bet you are enjoying being at your place in NH!! Dusty looks great & seems to be quite happy & settled in! The crate training should go well for you - but he does need to learn to settle himself down on his own - That usually works best 'during the daytime' when you can go out & he has to learn that you will be back & that he is just fine!! He can get some of that 'protesting' out of his system when you aren't there to have to listen to it! He will get to liking his own place!! Of course, he will always love being with you - but it gives you a lot of options if he can also spend some time safe in his crate, too!
If you have his feeding taken care of early enough in the afternoon - pulling his water at about 6 - He should be fine through the night if he has had a late potty hit as late as you can have him go!
He should settle down in the night pretty quickly if you just let him
have to work it through -
If he can get you up - you start 'training' him to
expect that you will get up! -
See how that goes & stay in touch!! Let me know how you all are doing - Give Dusty some cuddles from me!
Have a great week-
Chris]

'DIVI'
[OUT OF SOPHIE & WINSTON'S JULY 31, 2010 LITTER]
The first few days with Divi (orange-yarn boy) have been so much fun! He is such a love! He can't wait to have his belly rubbed or cuddle with me on the couch. Everyone is so impressed by his calm nature. To pass on some praise to you - his vet said she could tell how much you had been working with him. Instead of jumping on her like most dogs, Divi calmly sat by her feet and waited for her to pet him.
You were very right about his personality. He loves being a part of everything, which is great, but also makes crate training a little but more difficult. I ended up sleeping next to the crate for the first few nights. Last night I left him in the crate by himself and I slept upstairs - it only took him 3 minutes of whimpering before he calmed himself down. Huge accomplishment!
I thought I'd send you a picture of the little guy on his daytime bed. He likes to rest on it while I'm cooking in the kitchen or relaxing in the living room. And he's just picked up the habit of dragging it into whichever room I'm in so he can be closer to me.
Thanks for such a great puppy!

Hi Chris,
What a wonderful weekend this was!!! Abby and Runner love their new home. They have been busy meeting all of our family and friends. It was fun watching everybody’s reactions when they see that we have two. Even we got a surprise when family came all the way from New Hampshire just to meet them.
It’s incredible how quick they are learning. We have been bringing them to their potty area, and they now run along side the fence until they get to it. Abby uses it without our coaxing. Runner is almost there. Crate training is working well. The first night was a little rough (as expected) but the last 2 nights they slept seven hours and no messes.
The temperament you strive to have in your puppies is very apparent. Along with all the recommendations and tips you’ve given us, it is going to be easy and fun to train Abby and Runner. They are going to grow into beauitiful Goldens. We will keep in touch and send pictures soon.
Thank you for helping us making our home like a little piece of heaven with your Homestead Goldens.

"MOLLY" MEETING HER NEW BABY GOAT FRIEND!
AUGUST 31, 2010
We love her to pieces! ["MOLLY" - Pink Yarn Collared Female Out Of Lucy & Winston's 3/23/2010 Litter] Our three grandchildren were over last evening along with their parents, and Molly had a marvelous time playing ball and running with the kids. When she would tire out she would come up on the porch with us older folk and lie down next to my mother. While we had a bed made up for her in our room, I have to say that she ended up sharing ours. All went well and there were no accidents. Her greatest fear right now is stairs; however, she has learned to go up and down a flight of three and we shall keep working with her. Tomorrow she gets her rabies shot so life will have to be calm for a few days after that. Thank you so much for raising such a special puppy and allowing her to be ours!

August 12, 2010
Hi Chris - I wanted to let you know we arrived home safely with Bailey. The car ride was an absolute pleasure with her. She just snuggled next to the kids for the entire 4 hours. The only reason we had to stop was so the kids could rotate who was sitting next to her! We had a wonderful visit with you and enjoyed tremendously meeting your dogs and all the sweet and beautiful puppies you had. Hardest part was picking only one! Thanks again for the time you spent with us and for all the great info you have provided. We will keep in touch. Take care - Kathleen - NY
August 13, 2010
Bailey is adjusting well to her new surroundings. She is cautiously taking in all the new sounds & smells. She slept in her crate last night from 11 pm to 6 am. I blocked it off with cardboard duct taped leaving about 3/4 of it for her but by the morning she had stretched out & moved it. I'll try to secure it better. She is not quite sure what to make of the 3 steps going into the house, so I carried her in & out last night. Today, I placed her on the first step to gradually get her used to the steps. I know it's only a matter of time before she gets acclimated to her new home. You can tell already what a sweet disposition & loving personality she has. There will never be a shortage of love for her in our home. Take care - Kathleen - NY Aug. 13, 2010 - P. S. My children are already telling me when they grow up & have houses of their own how many goldens they are going to have!

GRACIE - ONE YEAR LATER!!
[LACEY - TEDDY 6-4-2009 LITTER]
We attended and passed a basic six week obedience class. Gracie truly enjoyed the time in class, especially when she could see all her canine friends from week to week.
Back in March she stayed at the Pet Resort in Colchester while I was in Pennsylvania. Apparently, she impressed everyone with her friendliness and her ability to get along with many other dogs as they invited her back for another stay at any time. The next stay will be with Doggie Day Care as soon as this weather breaks.
She loves all animals - for example, she brought me two teenage bunnies one night that she found in the yard. I thanked her and asked her to take them back outside. She appeared to gather them both, and I thought she did, but two days later I found one bunny crouched behind my mother's chair! Suddenly, Gracie was no longer interested in showing me how carefully she could hold it in her mouth because she would not go near it. A borrowed Hav-A-Hart trap caught the rabbit and I returned it to Mother Nature. Gracie also is attracted to toads, frogs, and moles. And she will attempt to climb a tree after squirrels.
Of course, she enjoys our walks, seeing other people and dogs, going to the drive up window at the banks (yummy treats!), and gets excited when school is open and the neighborhood kids wait for the bus down at the corner.
One wonderful trait Gracie has is to stay in the unfenced part of the yard. She races around bushes and trees and tries to scare birds, chipmunks, and rabbits out of their hiding places. She is very good about not going into the road, but she will slip across the driveway to gather bread that my neighbor puts out for the birds. Even other people have noticed how closely she watches me to see what I'm doing or where I'm going.
So, I thought you'd like to see several most recent photos of Grace. She still has her "angel wings", as you can see. Thanks for a very special dog - and friend!

Dear Chris,
Just have to let you know how great Gracie (Lacey & Teddy's 6-4-2009 Litter) is doing. She is a wonderful puppy who greets everyone as a friend. She continues to be careful around my mother. Gracie does not go near her when she uses her walker, but waits until she is seated in her chair. Then Gracie sits right next to her as if she is waiting for my mother to ask her for something!
Gracie is an eager car passenger and loves to go for rides, no matter how long or short. Early on, she figured that going to the bank drive up window is definitely worth the trip. People in the bank crowd the window to tell her how beautiful she is, and then give her a bone! How much better can it get?
As you can see from the photo, Gracie is growing into a beautiful dog. But she is more than that; she is a joy to have as part of the family. Thanks for all the work you do to have such special dogs.
Merry Christmas to you and your family,
Lucille

FEBRUARY 13, 2010

Hi Chris,
I wanted to update you on three puppies my family and I have adopted from your kennel. Mo and Sadie Mae are from Teddy and Tara's litter. Mo is from the Nov. 15, 225 litter and Sadie Mae is from the Dec. 12, 2007 litter. My brother adopted Mya in May of 2006 (so it was probably a litter from March 2006) and I do not recall her parents. I believe one was Cooper and the other may have been Shasta.
Attached are a few recent pics of the "pups". I can literally write an entire novel on each of them, and have a million brag books! I have yet to meet anyone who does not like the pups!
I will give you some anecdotal records at another time, but I had recently visited your website and needed to let you see some great pics of the babies. Yes, they are technically dogs, but they will always be babies in my family's eyes!
Warmest regards,
Lori

[Olivia & Cooper's Red Yarn Boy - DOB: 9/8/09
Hi Chris,
Ben, along with his brothers, chose the newest family member's name...he really took to your Teddy and decided that our dog would do well to follow in his distinguished paw-steps! And Blue Hills Theodore, also called Teddy, Good Boy, Sweetie and Best Baby is really doing his grandpa proud thus far.
We knew this pup was special but we are truly amazed at what a wonderful dog he is! His bathroom manners are impeccable (thank you so much!) He has pottied just where he is supposed to and he is very good about taking care of business before play time. Teddy loves a good run around our back yard after finishing potty duty and he *really* loves playing in the snow! We have our boots, hats, gloves and coats at the ready as this boy loves the outdoors...just like us!
He spent most of his first day hanging out with us in the family room and introducing and re-introducing himself to all of us one by one as we sat on the floor; naturally, he got several good naps in and out of the crate as well! Yesterday, we had a couple of brief visits from close friends and family and he was so friendly and polite, saying hello to everyone and then returning to my side for praise. Teddy has adopted Christy's favorite spot as his own...on the rug in front of the couch in the family room... he will go straight there when he comes in from outside or while he is waiting for us to put our coats and boots on to go out, or just to be next to Jack and me when we are reading on the couch. He is very gradually exploring the downstairs with supervision and has slept through both nights in his crate with very minimal complaints...the 2 liter soda bottle with warm water was a really great tip!
I think Teddy is going to be an excellent alert dog, he is very attuned to sounds. When the phone or doorbell ring or a car drive into the driveway, he barks and comes to me, then I praise him. It is funny that he knows to stop barking once I respond to him! He is also very good about making eye contact with me, so I'm incorporating some sign language along with spoken commands.
We are all so impressed with how smart, responsive, affectionate and relaxed he is! You have done such a marvelous job preparing him to be a spectacular member of our family... thank you so much!!!
Lisa
PART 2:
Hi Chris,You are welcome to post our comments to your website, I will send along photos next time I am on the computer.
Teddy continues to do well... he has been sleeping through the night without messing his crate once. He's quite happy to chew on his toys rather than anything that will earn him an "off!"- he also really loves to hike in the woods and then crash for a good nap afterwards. He is quite fascinated by his reflection in the french doors at night...adorable!
Loving this little (big all too soon!) guy, pics to follow!

[DEC. 23, 2008 - SOPHIE/JEDEDIAH LITTER - 'PINK YARN COLLARED FEMALE' - (See Sophie's Photo Gallery For Puppy & Litter Pics)] I thought I would send you a picture of Miss Molly on Christmas morning. She was such a good girl Santa left quite a few new toys. Since her birthday was December 23, we had to celebrate both days so she was a happy girl! Not in the least bit spoiled. She is taking a Canine Good Citizen class now and doing very well and also taking an Agility class. Boy does she ever love that one. Now if I could just keep up with her. I thought she would be a bit timid going through the tunnel the first time never having seen one but I was so wrong ---- she barrels through that thing like there is no tomorrow. I guess we will have to keep on this track for a while. She is such a good girl. We are working toward the Therapy Dog recognition. She has the personality for it. We'll get there - she is still a puppy --- one year old. My baby. More pictures soon. Lori and Molly | ||||||

Another Awesome Update From "Charlie's" Mom!!
Hi Chris- Happy Holidays to you and yours. I wanted to send you a photo of “Charlie” so that you could see how GORGEOUS he is! He has the sweetest temperament and is so good around all of our kids (big and little)- He looks a little (and sometimes acts a little) like a teenager now and we just love him to death. It was really quite something to witness as he hopped like a rabbit through the foot of snow we got this weekend. He has really been a wonderful addition to our family. Thank you again and I hope that the new year brings you joy and prosperity (and many more beautiful Emanuel Homestead pups!)- Merry Christmas- Kellie

Chris:
I just wanted to (finally) drop you a line and tell you how wonderful my new best friend is. Molson (from Teddy & Pippen) is now about 4 1/2 months old and he is just an exceptional puppy in every way. His temperament is exactly what you told us you were striving for. He is kind, loving, incredibly calm, smart, obedient, and just a bundle of love and fun. He has been a delight to train. We had him basically housebroken the first day ( a few minor accidents, but those were mostly our fault), he walks on a leash like a pro, and he was a star pupil in his obedience training class. Everyone in the class said they wished they could get their dog to behave as well as Molson does and wanted to know how I did it. The truth is that Molson deserved all of the credit. If he could figure out what I wanted, he would do it. He sleeps through the night in his crate, politely waits his turn to eat or drink until our Yorkie has had her fill, and will sit calmly for long car rides. He loves everyone, makes friends everywhere, and he is especially calm and affectionate around young children. I really don't know how a dog could be any better.
I have attached a photo of Molson doing his favorite thing, relaxing in his wading pool. As you can see, he is a very handsome boy. In fact, the only problem we have had with Molson may be that it takes forever to get anywhere with him, because everyone has to stop to pet and admire him. He, of course, loves all of the attention and is not happy until he has given everyone a chance to admire and compliment him.
Molson was my Father's Day present. My wife and kids were the ones who really wanted a puppy and they were clever enough to realize that by making him a gift from the kids I couldn't say no. I am very lucky to have such a clever family because Molson is without doubt the best Father's Day present I ever received.

- I have been painting all the rooms of our house very methodically by moving a tarp and paint tray from wall to wall. I thought that I would have to crate her. But all I had to do was show her the tarp and gently tell her "No." She has been trailing me around the house for three days now always respecting the tarp and staying out of the way. I enjoy her company!!
- We drove from Connecticut, down to Charleston, S.C. over to Atlanta, GA, and back. As you already know, that's a lot of car time. At both the campground and the hotel she was the ideal travel dog and I would take her again anywhere.
- We recently asked someone to come in at the last minute to give her a potty break while we were away for the day. The person left a message on our machine saying that Callie responded to verbal instructions just as if she were an obedient child.

"TESTIMONY TIME"
hello chris, liza (from teddy and tara's 12/1/06 litter) is 13 months old now, 65 lbs and we are head over heels in love with her. she is mellow, affectionate and easy going. we can take her anywhere, she spent new years eve in boston traveling on the 't' and all over the city, everyone is her new best friend. she greets all new people by sitting on their foot, leaning on their leg and putting her head up to be petted, she is hard to resist. the compliments we get on her are neverending in fact we have never been so popular walking by ourselves as we are walking with her. she is great with our 10 year old and they have become best buddies. liza is still working on some training. her mischief is mild and easily corrected. for commands, she will give high fives, down, stay, wait, heel, roll over, crawl, speak, and lets go she does well, we are still working on getting her to come every time we call. she is great on and off leash when we go hiking and her photos won the first prize ribbon at the sterling fair.....i guess this is just my long winded way of saying she is perfect. we see that tara and teddy have had another batch of the worlds best dog, anyone would be lucky to have one, im wondering if we might be lucky enough to have 2. Will this be Tara's last litter? we are considering another dog, we just weren't really considering it just yet.... but you never know with this bunch hope you enjoy the pictures. we enjoy her! thanks so much, donna milliard~
